East O'ahu General Plan Still Open for Comment

Deadline for Inputs Extended to November 30, 2011

The `Āina Haina Community Association encourages all resident to review the General Plan and the East O’ahu Sustainable Communities Plan (SCP) and, most of all, to give your input to the General Plan.

Although comments are only being solicited for the General Plan, reading BOTH plans is very important to providing General Plan input with a thorough understanding of how General Plan changes may affect our East O'ahu communities.

The General Plan establishes the guiding principles for residential, commercial, agricultural and infrastructure development on O’ahu.  A copy of the General Plan is available on-line at:  http://www.honoluludpp.org/planning/OahuGenPlan.asp

Under the General Plan, there are Sustainable Communities Plans for the eight “districts” of O’ahu:  Central O’ahu, East O’ahu, Ewa, Koolaupoko, Koolauloa, North Shore, Primary Urban Center and Wainae.  A copy of the East O'ahu SCP is available on-line at: http://www.honoluludpp.org/planning/DevSust_EastHonolulu.asp

The deadline for community input on the General Plan is November 30.
